COUNTY SUPERVISORS RECOGNIZE RAVENSWOOD FAMILY HEALTH NETWORK’S 20TH ANNIVERSARY
SAN JOSE – Trusted community health partner Ravenswood Family Health Network was honored this week by the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors. The motion to honor Ravenswood Family Health Network’s 20th anniversary was made by County Supervisors Joe Simitian and Otto Lee. The commendation recognizes Ravenswood for its dedication to providing critical primary care services for underserved communities, including 10,000 patients in northern Santa Clara County.
“Twenty years ago, Ravenswood opened its doors as a community clinic and began providing primary care health services for many in North County,” said Simitian. “Since then, they’ve been a key community health partner. In 2020, Ravenswood stepped up and acquired MayView Community Health Center and its three clinics in Mountain View, Sunnyvale, and Palo Alto so folks in those communities would continue to have affordable health care services.”
“Ravenswood cares for so many families and individuals in our community,” said Lee. “They continue to respond to the community’s need and evolve service to help those who need it most. Throughout the pandemic, the folks at Ravenswood have been on the frontlines administering vaccines and tests, and even launched a mobile clinic to bring services directly to underserved neighborhoods.”
Ravenswood Family Health Network is a nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) providing services to individuals and families residing in East Palo Alto, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Redwood City, Sunnyvale, and surrounding communities. The clinics provide a comprehensive scope of health care services designed to especially reach out to underserved and uninsured ethnic minority populations and low-income families. Services include primary pediatric and adult care, dentistry, women’s health, integrated behavioral health, optometry, pharmacy, mammography, ultrasound, x-ray, laboratory services, health education and prevention, and health plan enrollment.
“Ravenswood is an invaluable partner for our County in providing excellent medical and dental care in North County,” said Simitian. “I want to say ‘thank you’ to CEO Luisa Buada, the Ravenswood staff, and their physicians for the past 20 years of care. I’m looking forward to more good work in the years ahead.”
