AB 821 (2001) High Technology Crime
Requires financial sector representation on the State’s High Tech Crime Advisory Committee. Authorizes the allocation of funding by the High Technology Theft Apprehension and Prosecution Program to focus on high tech theft and financial crimes. Expands established training programs for prosecutors, investigators, and law enforcement officers dealing with high tech crimes. Learn more here.​

AB 49 (2003) High Technology Crime Task Force
Establishes the California High Technology Crime Task Force (a.k.a. California Cyber Cop Program), with five regional programs throughout the state to develop local high tech crime expertise. Aligns California’s High Technology Theft Apprehension and Prosecution Program with the National Homeland Security Act to create a statewide system, and eligibility for federal anti-terrorist funding. ​Learn more here.

AB 2580 (2002) Dangerous Weapons
Requires the Department of Justice to perform annual inspections of those who hold dangerous weapons permits to ensure continued ownership, security, safe storage, and overall compliance with permit conditions. Learn more here.

SB 514 (2011) Dextromethorphan (DXM) Sales to Minors Prohibited
Bans the sale of non-prescription drugs containing DXM to a minor. DXM is a cough suppressant commonly found in over-the-counter cold medications, and as such it can be used by those under 18 to get high. Learn more here.
