Supervisors "grow" Sanborn Park

The Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors approved the purchase of a 103-acre property in unincorporated Saratoga to expand Sanborn County Park. The acquisition provides an opportunity to create a new trail connection that will provide public access to a historic area of the park. 

Celebrating County Parks: a century of preserving open space

A century ago Santa Clara County acquired 400 acres of rolling foothills between Saratoga and Cupertino for the County’s first public park — Stevens Creek County Park. This laid the foundation for the modern-day Santa Clara County Parks system, which today includes 28 locations encompassing more than 52,000 acres set aside for recreation and habitat protection.

Stevens Creek Park celebrates 100 years

One hundred years ago, on January 24, 1924, Santa Clara County acquired an initial 400 acres near Cupertino with the intent to establish a public park. The park, now known as Stevens Creek County Park, opened to the public later that year, making it the first County park and laying the foundation for the modern-day Santa Clara County Parks system.

Sanborn Park clean up allows a brighter future

Sanborn County Park site restoration moves forward with the remediation and clean-up of the former Christensen Nursery, enabling next steps for the Sanborn County Master Plan implementation, which will facilitate in the creation of new campgrounds, trail connections, and other recreational activities for the community.

County funds more all-inclusive playgrounds

Children and adults with physical or cognitive disabilities will soon have additional options for inclusive and accessible playgrounds throughout Santa Clara County.
