Supervisors Push "Next Level" Strategy on Homelessness

Yesterday, the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors approved a “Challenge Grant” of up to $40 million to jump start as many as 16 housing sites/projects for homeless individuals across the county. The motion put forth by Supervisors Joe Simitian and Otto Lee was approved unanimously.

The challenge grant(s) can be leveraged by non-profits like LifeMoves and/or other qualified applicants to catalyze the development of up to 16 modular, supportive interim housing sites in Santa Clara County. Funding will be provided on a first-come first-serve basis and $2.5 million will be allocated per project.
