RE: August 13, 2019 Board Meeting, Adjournments in Memoriam for Gilroy Garlic Festival Shooting Victims

As President of the Board of Supervisors, I write to share with you the emerging plan for the August 13, 2019, Board of Supervisors meeting as we memorialize the passing of the victims of the shooting at the Gilroy Garlic Festival.

After convening the meeting and conducting the Roll Call, Pledge of Allegiance, and Invocation, Supervisor Wasserman and I will announce “Adjournments in Memoriam” for the victims of the Gilroy Garlic Festival shooting (approximate time, 9:45 A.M.). I will introduce each Adjournment and offer comments, and then turn to Supervisor Wasserman. Following Supervisor Wasserman, I will then turn to other Supervisors for comment.

Upon conclusion of the Adjournments in Memoriam, we will recess to the James McEntee Sr. Plaza to raise the flags to full staff. We will then return to Chambers to reconvene our meeting.

Flags at all County facilities were lowered to half-staff on July 29, 2019. Flags at all County facilities will be raised to full staff once the Board reconvenes its meeting on Tuesday, August 13, 2019.
