Simitian Calls for Partnership and Progress at 2018 State of the County

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SAN JOSE – Santa Clara County Supervisor Joe Simitian today called for a year of partnership and progress at the State of the County address.

Simitian, who last month was unanimously elected as President of the Board, highlighted programs like senior transportation, disability-friendly playgrounds, and the preservation of affordable housing, and applauded the partnerships within and outside the County that made them possible.

Simitian was introduced by Erika Escalante, President of the Buena Vista Residents’ Association, who worked with Simitian to preserve the Buena Vista Mobile Home Park in Palo Alto.

“As the year unfolds you’ll hear me return again and again to these two themes: partnership and progress,” said Simitian. “I’m confident that however tumultuous the scene may be at the state or national level, progress can be made — will be made — by good people partnering with one another to make progress for us all.”
